This is one of the best museums I've ever been too. A perfectly done exposition gives you some hints on banana's history in a social and local context. You have a wonderful mini plantation to get to know more about the cultivation of this fruit.
Besides, each entrance ticket includes a banana from there! At the exit you can taste some banana liquor or wine (yes, banana wine). You just can't miss it.
The lady who received us was a wonderful host! Thank you so much.
Great place to visit. We really enjoyed our visit today, people are very kind and helpful, we got some bananas 🍌 to recover from the heat and walk which was very lovely😄 This place is good as for adults and kids, everyone will enjoy.
You can take very beautiful pictures and learn about bananas 🍌
The entrance is 5€ and there is not time limit inside. You can also try some banana liquor 🥃 and wine 🍷
La Casa del Plátano, in Icod de los Vinos, Tenerife , is a museum that is housed in an old hacienda in the town. There, through a very interesting tour, you will be able to learn everything about banana cultivation. Likewise, you will have the opportunity to see an authentic banana plantation where you will be able to appreciate different varieties of bananas. If you want to know the history and gastronomy of Icod de los Vinos and rest for a few days with your family, this is the best place to do it. The second space, which is a small banana plantation. There you will discover that bananas are the main crop of the Canary Islands, in addition to learning about their characteristics and their historical journey in Tenerife. Thanks to this, one of the most important things you will learn on this site is to differentiate bananas . In addition, you will learn to recognize when a banana comes from the Canary Islands discovering its aroma and sweeter flavor.
Great little museum! Instead of a ticket you’ll get a banana🍌 - edible ticket is a plus 😀. For 5 Euro you’ll see plenty of various banana trees, Land Rovers, machines… and hens 🐥!
The shop sells various products made from bananas - liqueur, rosquetes… and also bananas, and they are really good 🫶🏻
Casa del Plátano - interesting place in the city.
All information about plátano 🍌. Many kinds of bananas, you could try it and you could buy it. Helpful and friendly staff.
For 5 Euros I think it's worth visiting the museum. You don't get poor, but you don't get rich. You can see a few bananas up close and you can document the history of the plantations on the island. For the price of 5 Euros I received a banana as a gift. At the entrance we were told that at the end we would taste a banana wine and a banana liqueur. For this experience I would add zero stars. If the lady who cashed us money for tickets was very nice, the traditional dressed woman who gave us to taste humiliated us literally with 5 milliliters of wine and 5 of liquor (and believe me I'm not exaggerating, 5 not 50). I was left with such a bitter taste, he better tell me that he has nothing to serve us. I wanted to buy 2 bottles and leave them there for future visitors. Shame!
My stepdaughter said we need to go into the banana museum, and do you know what, it's only small but we really enjoyed it. If you're in the area, def worth a visit. Paying 5€ for an adult, you get a free banana, and drink tasting at the …
Small but amazing place! The lady at the entrance is very nice and helpful, you can feel she's really good with people and loves what she's doing. There are many information boards inside the museum that you can read and you can take a walk …
